Everyone knows the traditional red sangria, but the white version is becoming increasingly popular.
What is Sangria Blanca?
It is a fresh, fruity version of the classic. As the name suggests, Sangria Blanca does not contain red wine, but dry white wine. In addition, a mix of fruit, lemon juice and in a few variations a liqueur.
What does it contain?
• 1 bottle of dry white wine
• Fresh fruit (apples, pears, peaches, citrus fruits)
• 1-2 tablespoons of sugar
• Orange and lemon juice
• Sparkling water or soda
Optional: liqueur such as triple sec or peach liqueur
Mix the white wine with pieces of fruit, add the sugar and lemon juice. Leave it in the refrigerator for at least two hours to let the flavors mix. Before serving, add some sparkling water or soda for a sparkling experience.
